Hey people,im having problems with my FPS lately and cant figure out what to do. Im running wow on gtx and i5 I want to play with vsync since my monitor is 60hz and gpu is less stressed. I tried switching between dx11 legacy,dx11 and dx Dx11 legacy gives me the worst performance, while dx11 and dx12 are the same, but the difference is that dx11 varies a lot in fps but no freezing or stuttering my fps would drop to 54,56,57,58 and go back to 60 even when there is 0 people around ,while dx12 has more constant fps but would freeze my screen for like secs if I enter orgrimmar or any other populated zone or if I move camera.
This is driving me crazy,is there anyone who can help? I have 0 problems right now with the game but not running ultra, although in raiding enviroments or in crowded areas i performance dives to fps when i have outdated addons.
On which settings are you playing? Ye our pcs are similar but im having this problem and have no idea why.
Stutter with high fps
Im having it at Ultra when alone, and specific raid and battlegrounds settings to 7 and lowered shadow details. Im never going below 40 at worst case inside raids, note my guild is 20man mythic or around 22 23 people on heroic. Im pretty sure i will go below that inside a pug zerg. Havent done an LFR for some time now but had 0 issues about weeks last time i did it. There is currently an issue with pets causing FPS spikes during gameplay.

FPS is constantly aboveeasily, and yet the stuttering can happen anywhere, even when in the orbiter. Which seems odd to me, since I have not seen any actual effect when changing that setting for any game, for years, which is why I gave up on setting that. Sorry for the long comment, but I hate comments that don't give any context. Here's hoping I don't come back with a "nope, it's still stuttering" comment Same here.
Toggled everything to no avail. I don't use steam for my game so I don't have the overlay. This truly is an odd issue and wonder how DE have not noticed it themselves.
I've sent a ticket to DE on this and while troubleshooting even more, here's what I've come to notice also sent the same as a comment to my ticket :. Since I have 2 monitors, I often have a lot of stuff open in my secondary monitor. I always have at least Steam and Discord open. Sometimes I have either Spotify or Chrome for YouTube open as well, if I want to listen to some other music or podcast etc.
So, I can "activate" the stuttering when I have a YouTube I suppose the platform does not matter video playing. Especially when the quality is high enough, let's say p 60fps. Is this a Windows 10 issue? So I guess if I want to keep devouring other media while playing, I have to make sure it's in lower quality or make the game Fullscreen. The thing is, it makes alt-tabbing a pain and I can't just pause the game and move my mouse over to the other monitor.
So, my questions to you guys are: Do you have something else playing in the background or other monitor in Chrome while playing? If so, try lowering the quality if it's possible. Also, are you playing in Borderless Fullscreen mode?
Try Fullscreen and see if the problem goes away. I know, it seems obvious, but even I had not tried that. Yes, I often have chrome and discord open in the background but run warframe in full screen. I'm now starting to wonder if we are even talking about a same kind of "stuttering". Only because mine is so reproduceable and I now know how to avoid it.
The type of stuttering I'm talking about is propably more accurately called frame-skipping or something. In other words, it's either the same as my secondary monitors refresh rate OR just plainly half of what the game is currently outputting. And it's stable, not skipping all over the place. If I've deciphered correclty what the web has to say about this, it's all thanks to Windows 10 and propably the Creators Update to be specific. Because damn, that's be even more annoying since there's really no way to compensate because of how random it usually is.Play nice.

The game mostly runs great during combat between fps. Silky smooth. It would eventually get bad enough to become more than an annoyance and start to affect gameplay quite a bit.Pandas time difference between rows
I could even go to orbit and my mouse cursor would skip around while moving it around in the menus with my fps as a solid As soon as I restarted the game - BAM perfectly smooth again.
Changing any graphics settings vsync, aim smoothing, fullscreen, etc. Switching drivers the bug has been around for a year's-worth of driver updates now - and even completely changing hardware - does not fix the bug.
What sets this bug apart from other stutter bugs? Destiny 2 does not have the frame stutter immediately after starting the game. Reportedly, some people get it to reset by returning to orbit Still occurs with mouse disconnected and playing with only a controller. It is still reproducible via these steps, but the bug is not as suddenly noticeable as it used to be : I have managed to reproduce this choppiness bug every time. I'd be interested in seeing if the exact same thing can be done by others with different rig setups: 1.
Start up fresh game 2. Only a game restart will fix this. Going back to orbit, or even loading into another area, the strange stuttering persists until game restart. I have noticed the game doing this "dropped frames" thing elsewhere - maybe just over time it gets worse.
GTA 5 Stuttering and Lag Fix: High FPS Stutter on PC
But this one public event was like night and day when it started. Have to restart the game every hour or so to reset the stutter. Some evidence seems to show that the stuttering is in part triggered or made worse by FPS going over So the more powerful your hardware, the worse you will see this bug. Which may explain why it was reported more frequently by people with higher end GPUs s, s, AMD equivalents, etc.
It would also match up with other 'abovefps' engine bugs Destiny 2 has had in the past: weapon effect animations, jump pads, etc.

Perhaps this coupled with something in public areas is causing the stuttering to gradually get worse. Comment Reply Start Topic. Post History Loading, please wait. I'll get right back to you. Must be some sort of frame pacing issue with the game and Nvidia. Last edited: Aug 12, I actually increase mine in the advanced settings to x1.
I don't need to. I've tried every setting in game and in Nvidia CP and nothing gets rid of it. Something with Nvidia drivers and this game don't mesh if vsync is off. Joined Feb 14, Messages 2, 0. Joined Apr 24, Messages 1, 0. Hmm, increasing max pre-rendered frames from 1 to 3 seemed to have helped me a bit with frame pacing. The problem is partly with drivers, partly with updates that rollout to Windows 10, especially the Windows 10 update that came through. This can happen for many reasons, but, if the GPU takes longer to render a frame than expected, it might even skip the frame or result in lag. This is easily noticeable during multiplayer games. You would see actions happening much later after you did it using a controller or mouse.
Many a timesIf a driver takes very long to prepare a frame for the GPU, which means you will see everything delayed.
FPS or Frames per Second is a result of stuttering. So for example, 60 FPS means 60 frames per second. If you have fast moving figure, which happens in the games, a higher FPS offers a better experience. There had been major discussion around forums for this. This applies to any OEM which offers a control panel to improve the gaming experience. So look at the control panels from your OEMS, and change things accordingly.
This is probably the best shot you have got without doing a lot of troubleshooting. Depending on which graphics card you have, visit the OEMS website, and download the latest driver they have. Install it, and if you are lucky enough it will fix your FPS drops and Stuttering.
To make sure your PC changes the frames as graphics card sends out new output, you need to enable Vsync. This makes sure that it reduces screen tearing but can introduce input lag. To make sure Games get maximum GPU cycles, its best to change the power management mode to prefer maximum performance. In the control panel, configure surround PhysX. Hello, I've been playing pc games for a couple years now and before around 4 months ago everything was fine. Hi, so I'm having problems with my RX I have a high fps but some games are really unplayable until I turn on vsync or freesync and this is a problem as one game that I play doesn't really support this and it is completely unplayable because it feels like i have 20 fps instead of Some games are worse, some are playable.
I really don't know what to do and with all the problems I had with this GPU leads me to believe it's faulty.Best fitbit versa apps 2020
I did always have some screen tearing but this is now times worse than just normal screen tearing because with screen tearing I would still feel the fps now it feels completely unplayable in some games. I never had such problems with my old gpu. And the best thing is that it's not constant it just happens every seconds making it even more distracting. Joined Dec 27, Messages 0. A few questions : What old GPU did you have? Are you running monitoring software in the background? How high is the CPU usage? I ask cuz is a fairly weak CPU for some games, and the being more powerful may be putting more strain on the CPU to feed it. A faulty GPU can indeed cause frametime spikes and tearing i have seen that before. Can you access another PC to test the in? Also it's very hard to see it in that video, at least to my eyes.
